West Ham in transfer chase for Aston Villa star
According to reports from Foot Mercato, West Ham are targeting Aston Villa forward Jordan Ayew for a summer transfer.
The Ghana international moved to Villa Park last summer and was one of their few stars to impress in the Premier League last season, bagging seven goals in 30 appearances.
But the Villains’ relegation to the Championship, finishing last season in bottom place, has created huge doubts over his future with the Birmingham outfit.
West Ham were linked with the 24-year-old by The Daily Mail in April and again earlier this month, amid news that Hamburg had tabled an £8million transfer bid.
Foot Mercato report on the Hammers’ interest in Ayew once again, whilst citing reports fromL’Equipe claiming Nice are considering a loan swoop for the African attacker.
However, it’s further added that the brother of Swansea forward Andre would prefer to stay in England and preferably return to the Premier League – giving the Irons a distinct advantage over Hamburg and Nice.
